Allen Meadows - Score: 90-93 (2019 January)

Reduction overshadows the underlying fruit at present but not the wood treatment. On the plus side there is both excellent intensity and energy to the lightly mineral-inflected and admirably concentrated flavors that reflect a taut muscularity on the mildly rustic and more tightly wound bitter cherry pit-suffused finale. This ever-so-slightly warm effort is a classically styled Nuits that will require at least a few years of cellar time to better integrate the wood treatment.
